We live such a short time it is difficult to gain a perspective on anything enduring about human existance other than buildings which survive past us. However I think we can clearly see, if we look there, that a colective consciousness survives past our short and mostly pointless lives. That is perhaps far more meaningful than any type of grave marker or monument, however arty.
Sounds like in your young life you have already been poking around death's digs a little. Be brave, my young friend, in the face of death's disappointments.

life and death are both part of the one and the same cycle. have no fear of death as it is just another stage.
